Goldie the Gold Medal Flour sack doll was the original upcycled toy in 1910. Finish your flour, sew the flour sack into a beloved childhood friend! 

Little Nick

This 1916 ad from “The Weekly Northwestern Miller” features an early mascot for Pillsbury’s Best – Little Nick. In the 1920s, Nick introduced Pillsbury-sponsored radio programs, but that was largely the extent of his fame. 

Minneapolis Mills

From the turn of the century to the 1930s, Minneapolis was all about the mills. Here, the Gold Medal Flour train pulls into the station near the Gold Medal Flour mill. This historic district still exists in Minneapolis today!

Give Thanks For Pie

This set of vintage playing cards from 1910 celebrated all the goodness of Gold Medal Flour. Aces were wild. 

Sweets To The Sweet

This 1911 Pillsbury cookbook shared recipes for popular sweets like candied orange peel and candy puffs. Fun fact: In 1911, they spelled coconut “cocoanut!”
