Betty on the Radio

In 1924, General Mills launched a Betty Crocker radio show later named “The Betty Crocker Cooking School of the Air.” The show first aired locally in Minneapolis, but was so popular it was picked up on the NBC Network. The show was one of the longest running in U.S. radio history and this ad from 1927 showcased a sassy young “Betty” at the mic.

Father of Waters

In 1911, it wasn’t just Minnesota’s powerful Mississippi River that helped make Pillsbury’s Best Flour, we had some help from the mythical “Father of Waters.”

Are You a Ghost Chomper?

Pac-Man Cereal, introduced in 1983, was a hit with fans of the arcade game. So-called “ghost chompers” enjoyed the delicious Pac-Man marshmallows almost as much as they enjoyed crushing his ghost enemies Inky, Blinky, Pinky and Clyde.
